Daylight

The night that darkness turned to matter
With open arms I let it in to take a place
I’d known how my soul would shatter
Then I’d have never played the games I played
The price I’ve paid.

Although you’ve known me in the daylight
My shadow follows and it’s been where I have been
Sometimes I feel it holds me so tight
If you’d only know the mess I made
The life you saved

Soon when darkness loses power
The sun will set and it will rise on a new day
I will open like a flower
And you will see inside this heart you’ve changed,
And rearranged
Oh, this life you’ve saved.
